Acts 2:42-47
42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper[a]), and to prayer.
43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity[b]— 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Why do you think Luke makes such a point of describing early believers eating together? What might it say about the nature of spiritual formation?
The sermon suggests the table isn’t a break from church—it is church. Can you recall a time when you felt truly welcomed at someone’s table? What made that moment meaningful?
The sermon names three barriers to life at the table: detachment, escapism, and overcommitment. Which one do you most resonate with right now? What would it take to push against it?
“I am not allowed to harden an opinion about any issue if I haven’t had a meal with someone affected.” What does that challenge look like in your own life?
What do your calendar and mealtimes say about your priorities? Where might you need more margin to be present at a literal or metaphorical table?
